The third annual Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show will return to Rupp Arena and Lexington Center on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The Incredible Food Show is the event of the year for Kentuckians who love food, cooking and entertaining.
According to exhibitor Danielle Dove of Good Foods Market & Cafe, "The Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show is simply an amazing show. It has been a great way for us to meet people who are excited about food, especially local food, and to talk with them about our store and mission."
This food lover's dream event is packed with more than 100 exhibitors sampling and selling products including Kentucky Proud producers and growers, specialty food companies, local restaurants and wineries.
The 2011 event will feature the dynamic brother chefs Michael and Bryan Voltaggio, the acclaimed Season 6 Champion and Runner Up, respectively, of Bravo TVs Emmy Award-wining show TOP CHEF (Season 6 – Las Vegas). The brothers will take the stage in Rupp Arena for two presentations at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Michael Voltaggio won top honors in what many have described as the most competitive season in the Top Chef history. He has spent over half of his lifetime in the kitchen, starting at the age of 15. Now based in Los Angeles, he will be opening his first signature restaurant, ink., this year. He is Michelin-starred and was a finalist for the James Beard "Best New Restaurant" award in 2009.
Bryan Voltaggio was the Season 6 TOP CHEF runner up. Bryan is chef and partner at VOLT, a three-star fine dining establishment in his native Frederick, Maryland. He was classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America and was a protégé of celebrated chef Charlie Palmer. Bryan fostered his passion for cooking during childhood, when his meals included produce harvested in the family garden. He has since become a strong advocate for meats, seafood, and produce that are local, sustainable and organic. Committed to a career in cooking early on in his teens, Voltaggio had already served as Sous Chef and Executive Chef at two regional hotel restaurants by the age of 20.
Now in its third year, the Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show will feature The Marketplace with product sampling and sales, cooking demonstrations by regional chefs, cooking seminars, cookbook author signings and a variety of exciting presentations by Sullivan University. A complete program of events will be announced throughout the summer months and early Fall.
Tickets are on sale now at the Lexington Center Ticket Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. For more information, call the Lexington Center, (859) 233-4567.
